Are you passionate about photography, digital storytelling, and building online communities?
OM Digital Solutions (OM SYSTEM) is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Assistant to support our Marketing team until March 30, 2027 (20 hours per week) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This role is a hybrid position.
In this role, you will assist with the planning and execution of content across our regional social media accounts.
What you’ll do:
Primary Responsibilities (50%)
- Maintain a content calendar based on direction from line managers
- Publish Instagram stories to maintain strong audience engagement
- Write compelling captions using relevant camera terminology and clear calls-to-action (CTAs)
- Generate and edit digital content using Canva and CapCut to support multi-channel marketing initiatives
- Curate user-generated content and customer photography
- Research trending audio, content formats, and photography-related hashtags
Community Engagement (25%)
- Respond to direct messages
- Engage with camera enthusiast accounts
- Actively participate in photography and camera communities
- Monitor brand mentions and interact with tagged content
- Respond to story replies and initiate engaging conversations
Strategy & Analytics (25%)
- Track daily Instagram Insights metrics
- Analyze top-performing reels and posts
- Monitor competitor accounts and industry trends; research emerging camera gear and photography developments, and report findings monthly to the line manager
- Prepare detailed monthly performance reports
What you’ll need:
- Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Availability to work 20 hours per week until March 30, 2027
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus
- Strong understanding of advertising, public relations, marketing communications, social media, trade marketing, creative production, and media analysis
- Knowledge of consumer products, consumer electronics, or photography is preferred
- Proficient user of MS Office, Canva, CapCut, and other standard office software
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
Strong Plus:
- Personal photography portfolio
- Experience growing Instagram accounts
- Familiarity with camera brands and models
- Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop skills
- Video editing skills
- Solid understanding of camera specifications and terminology
