Senior Manager of Federal Pursuits

IMEG is hiring a Senior Manager of Federal Pursuits. This role leads IMEG's Federal Proposal & Pursuit team, providing strategic leadership for pursuit planning, proposal execution, resource management, and team development in support of Federal growth.
Reporting to the Vice President of Federal, this role serves on the Federal Leadership Team and partners with Federal market leaders to establish pursuit priorities, develop winning strategies, and drive successful proposal outcomes. As a manager/doer, the position balances people leadership with active participation in pursuit strategy and proposal development for complex Federal opportunities while partnering with Proposal Operations and Marketing & Business Development teams on standards, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do
- Lead and develop IMEG's Federal Proposal & Pursuit team by providing strategic direction, performance management, coaching, workload planning, and professional development for Proposal & Pursuit Specialists.
- Serve as a member of the Federal Leadership Team, partnering with the Vice President of Federal and Federal Market Directors to establish pursuit priorities, develop capture strategies, and support Federal growth objectives.
- Lead pursuit strategy for major Federal opportunities by facilitating kickoff meetings, developing win strategies, identifying differentiators, and guiding proposal planning from pursuit through submission.
- Provide overall leadership for proposal execution, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and client-focused proposals, qualifications packages, interviews, and other pursuit deliverables.
- Actively participate in strategic proposal development as a manager/doer by contributing to messaging, content development, proposal reviews, and interview preparation for key pursuits.
- Establish team priorities and allocate proposal resources based on business priorities, workload, pursuit complexity, and probability of win while monitoring team capacity and future staffing needs.
- Partner with IMEG's Proposal Operations and Marketing & Business Development teams to ensure Federal pursuits align with enterprise proposal standards, compliance requirements, tools, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives while identifying opportunities to enhance Federal proposal performance.
- Monitor and evaluate proposal performance, facilitate pursuit debriefs, identify lessons learned, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen IMEG's Federal pursuit program.
- Build collaborative relationships with Client Executives, Project Executives, technical staff, and marketing professionals to support integrated pursuit planning and successful project capture.
- Maintain awareness of Federal procurement trends, client priorities, and competitive positioning while representing IMEG at selected industry conferences and professional organizations.
- Support the strategic management and continuous improvement of Federal qualifications, project experience, and pursuit resources to ensure the team is equipped for successful proposal delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Federal.
Required Skills/Abilities

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Design layout & presentation development skills
- Proficient with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Salesforce or CRM experience a plus
- Positive, collaborative attitude, with the ability to work well with supervisor, co-workers, principals, consultants and other outside contacts No travel required
- Ability to travel no more than 10% of time – an overnight likely
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, Journalism, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible Federal proposal and pursuit experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex Federal pursuits.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense, Federal Healthcare, and/or Federal Civilian markets preferred.
- APMP certification preferred.
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or professional services industry strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

State of California Salary Range $120,000-$160,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
