Air Liquide Medical Systems srl, part of the Air Liquide Group, is the business line of the Air Liquide Healthcare Division dedicated to Medical Devices.
Air Liquide Medical Systems deals with medical devices for the treatment of respiratory diseases. The company develops, manufactures and sells innovative products in three different areas of respiratory medicine: - -
Ventilation: ventilators and patient interface devices (masks) for intensive care, emergency treatments, transport treatments and home therapy. - Aereosoltherapy devices - Devices for the emanation of medical gases
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
You’ll be part of a primary international company as a member of our young and dynamic engineering team and you will contribute to the design of cutting-edge products.
To be successful in this position, you should have previous experience in medium complexity product development with strong requirements in terms of user-experience, comfort, ergonomy realized in engineering plastics crafted with injection mould technology. Prior professional background within the healthcare sector is considered a significant asset.
The medical field is very challenging in terms of applicable standards and technical documentation to be developed and regularly updated. These activities are required and part of the daily activities. You must be able to read standards, perform tests and create test reports. Candidates with previous experience on medical devices conformity will be preferred.
You’ll have the responsibility to create a project development plan: define and schedule main tasks together with different stakeholders both internal and external. You’ll also need to ensure the respect of timing.
Responsibilities
Translating market insights and user needs into comprehensive technical specifications and product roadmaps.
Leading the definition of patient-centric product requirements to enhance ergonomics, comfort, and clinical efficacy.
Execute detailed techno-economic feasibility analyses to ensure product viability and strategic alignment with organizational objectives.
Contributed to the company's IP portfolio through the generation of patentable engineering solutions.
Successfully reduced production costs by implementing strategic DTC methodologies without compromising on medical-grade quality.
Ensure compliance with the company’s safety standards
Ensure products are users and environment friendly
Manage the relation with suppliers to realize prototypes with the most recently additive manufacturing technologies
Analyze prototypes, data and test them if needed
Manage documentation of both new and revised 3D designs
Write detailed reports
Assess the quality control on components and prepare check lists
Develop technical documentation according to Medical Devices EU regulations to grant CE certification

Are you a Match ?
Requirements
Master degree in mechanical, biomechanical, biomedical or material engineer
Previous experience in R&D teams developing products
Good understanding of safety standards and environmental and ergonomics impact of a design
At least a basic knowledge on design of injection moulds for engineering polymers and elastomers
Ability to report in front of management
Good oral and written communication skills
The pay range for this position in Italy is €28.000 - €40.000. Please note that the pay information is a general guideline only. Air Liquide considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. The National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Metalworking and Engineering sector (CCNL Metalmeccanico) and the company level collective agreements will be applied.
