We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in developer tooling and CI/CD systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing CI/CD pipelines, building and operating developer portals, and a solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration. This role requires a polyglot mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving developer productivity through innovative tooling and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Build and operate developer portals or internal platform tooling, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for AI-assisted development tools and protocols.
• Conduct failure mode analysis and implement systems thinking to enhance tooling reliability and reduce cognitive load.
• Document processes, create developer guides, and communicate proposals effectively.
• Evaluate and implement AI-specific observability metrics to monitor performance and reliability of development tools.
• Design and execute phased migration strategies for shared infrastructure.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CDK for managing infrastructure.
• Configure and roll out AI coding assistants at scale, ensuring governance and best practices are established.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and strong knowledge of GitHub Actions.
• Experience in building and operating developer portals or internal platform tooling (e.g., Backstage).
• Proficiency in 2+ programming languages and a polyglot mindset.
• Frontend development skills for portal UI and developer-facing web tooling.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Strong systems thinking capabilities, including failure mode analysis and end-to-end ownership.
• Excellent written communication skills for documentation and developer guides.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and establishing governance for their adoption.

 

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating or evaluating LLM proxy/AI gateway infrastructure.
• Knowledge of AI-specific observability metrics.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or similar).
• Familiarity with feature management systems (e.g., LaunchDarkly, Split).
• Background in developer productivity metrics and measurement frameworks.
• Prior work on internal CLIs, scaffolding tools, or toil-reducing automation.
• Familiarity with workflow engines (e.g., Temporal).
