Mill Operator
Department: Bulk Operations

Location: Bridgeport, NE
Reporting To: Howard Christensen
Description
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Read and understand daily production schedule and material requirements.
- Set-up and operation of mill equipment with correct materials and product based on order specifications.
- Discharging mill contents.
- Maintaining mill production records.
- Sample and grade product according to customer specifications.
- Completing and maintaining required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output and machine downtime.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor milling problems and make appropriate adjustments on equipment, and perform minor maintenance duties
- Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT WE NEED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills including touch screens
- 1+ years of milling experience
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 100 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently exposed to a non-climate controlled environment.
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.
- Personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, hair net and food safety related items, is required.
