Description
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Process Improvement Engineer in the Marietta GA area
This is a long term opportunity
Hands-on role on the manufacturing floor—not a desk job.
Drive operational excellence across 70+ machines in a 24/7 plant by combining Lean leadership with direct mechanical work.
What you’ll do
- Lead shop-floor continuous improvement to raise safety, quality, and productivity
- Find waste, bottlenecks, and losses by observing and working on processes and equipment
- Apply Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, standard work, RCA) in a practical, execution-first way
- Improve OEE, uptime, cycle time, scrap, and rework
- Run Kaizen events with operators and maintenance; implement and sustain standard work and visual controls
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues alongside maintenance; support repairs, rebuilds, startups, and changeovers
- Lead RCA on chronic equipment losses and put permanent fixes in place
- Design or modify components, tooling, fixtures, and guarding
- Partner with maintenance on reliability and PM/PdM effectiveness
- Optimize material flow, line balance, and operator work; document usable standards and work instructions
What you bring
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 2–6 years in manufacturing with strong mechanical involvement
- Proven troubleshooting on industrial equipment and successful Lean/CI implementations
- Comfort in 24/7 or high-volume production
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment reliability
- Coil winding experience preferred; shop tools (mills, lathes, grinders) and CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) a plus
- Self-directed and results-focused; majority of time spent on the floor
