Senior Business Analyst (AI)

Location: Midrand (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote)
Contract Duration: Initial 12 Months (with the intention to extend for a further 8 months)

An established organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (AI & Intelligent Automation) to join a strategic AI delivery team focused on identifying, shaping, and delivering innovative AI and automation solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst with strong analytical, technical, and stakeholder management skills who can bridge the gap between business and technology. The successful candidate will play a key role in discovering opportunities, defining requirements, supporting delivery, and ensuring AI and Intelligent Automation solutions deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Use Case Discovery

• Conduct discovery workshops with business stakeholders to understand business processes, pain points, and opportunities.
• Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, or process improvement.
• Assess solution feasibility, including data availability, process maturity, technical fit, and business readiness.
• Develop business cases supported by measurable benefits and realistic assumptions.
• Maintain and prioritise the pipeline of AI and automation opportunities.

Requirements Gathering & Solution Design

• Produce current and future-state process models using BPMN or similar methodologies.
• Document functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyse business rules, exception scenarios, and data requirements.
• Define performance, security, audit, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are complete, accurate, and delivery-ready.

Delivery & Testing Support

• Support Agile delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and defect resolution.
• Design and execute test scenarios, including user acceptance testing.
• Support production deployments, hypercare, operational handover, and documentation.
• Produce user guides, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Data Analysis & Governance

• Analyse and validate data sources, quality, ownership, lineage, and accessibility.
• Establish baseline metrics and support benefit measurement after implementation.
• Ensure solutions comply with governance, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with technical teams to resolve integration, platform, and data dependencies.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
• Translate complex business requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Present findings, recommendations, and solution options to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement within the Business Analysis function.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• 6+ years' experience in Business Analysis within enterprise environments.
• Minimum 2 years' experience supporting AI, Machine Learning, Data, or Intelligent Automation initiatives.
• Proven experience taking solutions from discovery through implementation and business adoption.
• Strong Agile delivery experience within cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with business stakeholders across multiple business functions.

• Telecommunications, financial services, or large enterprise experience.
• Exposure to AI solution patterns, LLMs, and Intelligent Automation platforms.
