What is the job?
The Dish Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanlinessand hygiene by ensuring that all dishes, silverware, and food prep utensils are spotlessand ready for use. The Culinary Steward supports the overall cleanliness of the kitchen,efficiently stocking dishes and utensils throughout culinary spaces, as well as in therestaurant and banquet areas. Additionally, they are responsible for upholding thecleanliness and operational standards of the employee breakroom, creating a welcomingenvironment for all staff members.
Your day to day
- Clean and sanitize dishes and utensils.
- Put cleaned dishes and utensils away in proper place.
- Maintain the dish machine and dish room in an organized manner.
- Deliver glasses, plate ware, etc. to various departments per supervisor’s instructions.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchenBus speed racks, all other dishes, and cook’s utensils; wash and replace items to theproper place within the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of employee breakroom; including, but not limited to,sweeping, mopping, wiping tables and countertops, filling ice in pop-machine.
- Breakdown and clean pop-machine in employee breakroom.Assist in the Pantry as well as Banquet Prep and with the plating of food as necessary.
Requirements
What we need from you
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in culinary areas.
- Set up, clean, and operate the dish machine efficiently.
- Engage positively with associates.
- Adapt to controlled and extreme temperatures, including high humidity and over 110°F.
- Maintain mobility for up to 8 hours.
- Position self to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment.
- Lift items up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Maneuver carts weighing up to 150 pounds regularly.
- Perform repetitive motions as needed.
A high school or equivalent education is preferred. Minimum of six months of prior food service experience is preferred.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subjects to
disciplinary action, up to and including, separation.
