JOB OBJECTIVES:  Working as a member of the agency's clinical staff team, the Mental Health Therapist: provides a range of pre-treatment clinical services, including intakes, screening, triage, referral and linkage, as well as crisis intervention services and counseling services to agency clients.

Essential Functions: 

• Provide assessment, referral, linkage, and intake services for prospective and current clients, including Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders program clients, as appropriate.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and prepare timely, accurate clinical documentation and written summaries.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
• Deliver crisis intervention, stabilization, and case management services to at-risk youth and their families.
• In collaboration with the Director of Emotional Wellness Programs, the Development Team, the Clinical Director, and participate in community presentations and outreach activities.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and other area service providers.
• Participate in clinical supervision with the Clinical Director at least bi-weekly.
• Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Engage in ongoing training, professional development, and staff development activities.
• Complete all required clinical, administrative, and statistical documentation in a timely manner.
• Meet established direct service expectations and maintain compliance with agency documentation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education, Skills, and Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline from an accredited clinical program.
• Illinois licensure preferred (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT).
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
• Strong understanding of the behavioral dynamics of individuals, families, and groups.
• Working knowledge of the DSM-5-TR and mental health diagnostic practices.
• Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a clinical team.
