- Interpret and evaluate loan agreements, servicing agreements, and other legal documentation to support underwriting, asset management, and risk assessment activities.
- Risk Management: Track market conditions and builder concentration, run stress tests, and recommend risk solutions.
- Identify early warning signs of builder distress by tracking delayed lot development or slowing sales velocity.
- Evaluate builder land pipelines, absorption paces, and lot take-down schedules during the underwriting stage
- Report Management: Streamline and consolidate separate reports into clear summaries for management.
- Underwriting Support: Evaluate builder land pipelines, absorption pace, development schedules, and lot take-down structures during underwriting and credit review processes.
- IGA Administration: Maintain and update IGA extensions, ensuring timely tracking, documentation, and compliance with internal credit and portfolio management requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- MBA in Finance or bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial banking, real estate lending, credit analysis, portfolio management, underwriting, or a related financial services role.
- Strong understanding of residential land development, Acquisition & Development (A&D) lending, homebuilder finance, and real estate credit fundamentals.
- Experience spreading and analyzing financial statements, evaluating borrower performance, and assessing credit risk.
- Ability to review and interpret loan agreements, servicing agreements, guaranties, and other legal and credit documentation.
- Proficiency in analyzing builder inventory reports, borrowing bases, covenant compliance, and portfolio performance metrics.
- Experience preparing market analyses, evaluating project budgets, and validating data quality across pipelines and portfolio reporting.
- Understanding of housing market fundamentals, including absorption rates, housing starts, lot development cycles, and sales velocity trends.
- Ability to identify emerging portfolio risks and early warning indicators through financial, operational, and market analysis.
- Experience supporting underwriting and credit approval processes, including evaluation of land pipelines, development schedules, and lot take-down structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience working with large production builders and complex, multi‑phase projects.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
Good to Have
- Experience with appraisal review, inspection processes, and loan servicing systems.
- Familiarity with borrowing‑base and collateral monitoring best practices.
- Knowledge of master‑planned community underwriting, horizontal and vertical development, and multi‑market portfolio oversight.
- Experience guiding junior team members and leading cross‑functional workstreams.
