Position: Staff Software Engineer

 

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

 

Duties: Delivers platform capabilities within a sub-organization or technical area, including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks (for example, CI/CD, SDKs, model runtimes, feature stores). Aligns development efforts with roadmap milestones and domain priorities to ensure cohesive execution. Applies cloud-native architecture principles (for example, microservices, containers, automation) to achieve scalability, resilience, and agility across systems. Drives the full software development lifecycle: coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, observability, monitoring, and maintenance. Leads infrastructure and tooling development to accelerate engineering productivity, enhance developer experience, and support platform goals. Conducts system design reviews to validate feasibility, ensure quality, and confirm alignment with project goals and architectural best practices. Builds AI-driven applications and intelligent automation features using languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++. Integrates AI agents and ML components that support multi-step reasoning and automation using platforms like GitHub Copilot. Applies design patterns and principles to ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, modular, and scalable. Engages product and business stakeholders to identify and refine complex user problems, converting them into actionable technical requirements. Breaks down work into well-scoped, actionable units ready for engineering execution. Uses data-driven engineering practices to define and track success metrics, optimize development processes, and maintain engineering excellence. Contributes to API design and software prototyping to validate technical solutions and gather early feedback. Facilitates correction-of-error review processes to continuously improve code quality and reduce defect recurrence. Stays current with industry trends and contributes to engineering thought leadership through documentation, tool evaluations, and internal knowledge sharing.

 

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

 

Skills Required: Must have experience with: Developing scalable and secure web applications with experience in ReactJS in combination with other JavaScript libraries; Designing and implementing REST API web services, integrating external APIs and services into applications using JavaScript; Writing type safe code for large scale applications using Typescript's explicit type annotations; Designing and executing end to end tests and integration tests for web applications using Testcafe; Writing and maintaining unit tests for code reliability and robustness using libraries including Jest and Mocha; Ensuring a consistent look across applications by using a component library such as Tailwind, Material UI and Rodeo; Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines on tools like GitLab/Jenkins/Looper/Heroku to manage deployments and automate end to end tests on multiple environments and browsers; Leveraging JavaScript’s asynchronous programming model (async/await, callbacks, promises) and handle authentication, logging, error handling in applications; Gathering requirements with key stakeholders and utilizing Agile frameworks like Scrum and tools such as Jira to track progress, manage tasks and facilitate adaptive project management; Building accessible and semantic HTML markup, ensuring cross browser compatibility and consistent styling across devices with HTML and CSS; Working with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Oracle DB for storing and querying data; and Developing highly available and scalable web applications with headless CMS (Content Management System) solutions. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

 

Salary Range: $221,374/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
