Plant Operations Manager (5852)

American Construction Metals (ACM) is a rapidly growing manufacturing Strategic Business Unit of ABC Supply and is currently seeking a Plant Operations Manager.
 

In this role, you will oversee the Aberdeen, MD plant location. The Plant Manager will report to the Director of Operations and be responsible for overseeing all planning, leadership, control and management of the plant.    

Specific duties include:

• Directing and coordinating the plant to produce assigned products within the constraints of the organization directives and policies
• Ensuring that all department associates are following all safety policies and procedures
• Assessing resources, expenses and capital requirements
• Interviewing and hiring associates
• Developing operating budgets
• Developing strategies for plant layout and configuration to successfully rollout new product introductions, rationalization of existing products and maximizing efficiency and inventory turns
• Managing process improvements with the maximizing of on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction in mind
• Leading safety and training program meetings
• Communicating effectively with operations and logistics managers
• Assisting with the interview process of new associates and monitoring their performance once hired
• Reviewing total quality management (TQM) performance monthly

Qualifications include:

• College degree (Manufacturing Management, Engineering or other related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing management role is required
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP system is required
• Six Sigma and LEAN training experience is required; certifications preferred
• Demonstrated organizational leadership and operations management experience
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and works well under pressure

Salary Information:

$90,000-$140,000 plus bonus potential
