Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and public spaces. This role helps ensure a comfortable and healthy living environment while supporting the overall well-being of our residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain common areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms according to facility standards.
• Dust and wipe down handrails, walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Follow all housekeeping and safety procedures, including proper chemical storage and use of caution signage.
• Operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas.
• Report resident safety concerns promptly to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, guests, and coworkers.
• Manage time effectively and complete assignments efficiently.
• Work independently and collaboratively to maintain facility standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand procedure manuals, instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to changing situations.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment and cleaning products throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond promptly to facility needs.
