Description
Pipeline Engineer may include full or partial responsibility for the following assignments:
- Lead in the execution of engineering activities:
- Pipeline design, including plans, profiles, details, and associated bill of materials
- Coordination to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition
- Calculations for studies and reports
- Material and equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
- Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including:
- Conceptual designs and execution plans
- Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
- Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Pipeline Facilities, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
- Develop and improve processes, tools, and/or factory acceptance testing
- Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members
- Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
- Provide short-term field support during construction
- Support business development and marketing initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program, and 7 years of pipeline engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
- Or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 7 years of pipeline engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
- Or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 6 years of pipeline engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong computer skills (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF).
- Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8. Familiarity with 49 CFR Part 195 and ASME B31.4 is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
