Social Worker, LMSW Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-time
Annual Salary: $78,174.04
Work schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)

HANAC, Inc. – originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.
Job Summary
The program supervisor will supervise staff at a 159-unit HPD Senior Affordable Rental Apartment
(SARA) Program for seniors 62+ years of age with low income, some of whom were formerly
homeless.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the program and ensure services are provided where needed
- Guide staff regarding mental, emotional and behavioral health concerns and make referrals where appropriate; intervene as needed
- Guide staff in managing emergency situations and intervene when crisis warrants it
- Foster connections with community providers and inform tenants about services available, including food pantry and free tax preparation
- Oversee the development of the program to encourage social interaction and form a sense of community among tenants
- Develop relationships with Property Management staff to better assist tenants with issues as they arise
- Maintain contact with funding source and provide monthly report
- Manage annual program budget, payroll for staff, and find training opportunities for staff
- Order supplies as needed
- Review staff documentation to ensure accuracy
Qualifications:
- Must have LSW or MSW, in any related field
- 2 - 5 years working directly with clients
- Counseling Experience
- Ability to meet goals in a timely manner
- Experience as Coordinator of Social Services
- Crisis Intervention Skills
- Ability to document and report all social service contracts and make appropriate referrals
- Ability to understand the problems of older adults, minority and disadvantaged groups
- Ability to produce documents written in the English language using proper sentence, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
- Willingness to stay current in the field by attending seminars, training and relevant community events
