Job Summary:

DisplayNote Technologies is looking for a commercially minded, hands-on Head of Marketing to lead our next phase of growth. This is a permanent leadership role that will initially provide maternity cover for our Marketing Manager before transitioning into the long-term Head of Marketing position, leading our marketing strategy.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, you'll shape our brand, drive demand generation, strengthen our global partner ecosystem, and build a high-performing marketing function as we scale internationally.

This is not a role focused simply on generating more marketing activity. It is an opportunity to shape a category, build international brand awareness, create demand across direct and partner-led markets, strengthen the value of our OEM ecosystem and develop the marketing function required for DisplayNote’s next stage of growth.

Job Description:

About DisplayNote

DisplayNote builds the software experience layer for shared meeting rooms and learning spaces. Think of DisplayNote as the Apple CarPlay of shared spaces. The display, hardware and meeting platform may change, but DisplayNote creates a familiar, secure and consistent experience for the person using the room.

Our two core platforms—Launcher and Montage—help organisations start meetings, share content, manage rooms centrally and create more predictable experiences across classrooms, meeting rooms and shared spaces. DisplayNote technology is embedded in hundreds of thousands of spaces worldwide through partnerships with leading display manufacturers, and is also sold directly to enterprise, education and technology customers.

The technology is proven. The market opportunity is significant. But much of the value DisplayNote creates is still invisible to the people who experience it.

We are now evolving from a successful embedded software provider into the recognised experience layer for shared spaces. Our ambition is to make DisplayNote the standard behind meeting rooms and learning spaces that work consistently—across hardware, devices, platforms and locations.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on Head of Marketing to help make that ambition real. This is not a role focused simply on generating more marketing activity. It is an opportunity to shape a category, build international brand awareness, create demand across direct and partner-led markets, strengthen the value of our OEM ecosystem and develop the marketing function required for DisplayNote’s next stage of growth.

You will inherit:

  • proven products with international reach

  • established relationships with global technology partners

  • a newly developed brand platform

  • a clear strategic direction

  • direct access to the CEO and senior leadership team

  • the opportunity to shape how marketing operates across the business

The successful candidate will combine strategic judgement with practical delivery. You will be comfortable setting direction, building plans, improving systems and rolling up your sleeves when required.

Important Information About the Role

This is a permanent Head of Marketing position. During your first 12 months, you will combine immediate operational ownership with the development of DisplayNote’s future marketing function.

While our Marketing Manager is on maternity leave, you will take direct responsibility for maintaining and improving core marketing delivery. This will give you first-hand exposure to our customers, products, partners, systems, commercial priorities and routes to market.

Alongside day-to-day delivery, you will begin shaping the longer-term marketing strategy, operating model, measurement framework, resource plan and team structure.

When the Marketing Manager returns, they will report directly to you and resume ownership of day-to-day marketing execution. Your focus will then shift further towards strategic leadership, commercial growth, team development and cross-functional alignment.

This structure is intended to build a scalable marketing function, not replace an existing one.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Marketing will lead the development of DisplayNote’s marketing strategy and commercial marketing capability.

You will work across brand, product marketing, demand generation, partner marketing, customer insight, content, digital, campaigns, events, communications and marketing operations.

You will also work closely with Sales, Product and Customer Success to ensure marketing supports the complete commercial system—from market understanding and proposition development through to pipeline generation, partner activation, adoption and growth.

This is a senior role for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution, and who wants to build lasting marketing capability rather than simply manage a campaign calendar.

What You Will Own

  • Marketing strategy and leadership: Develop and lead DisplayNote’s marketing strategy, translating commercial objectives into clear priorities, plans, budgets, KPIs and investment decisions.

  • Brand and category development: Lead the rollout and stewardship of the new brand, strengthen DisplayNote’s position as the experience layer for shared spaces, and build awareness across enterprise, education, OEM and channel audiences.

  • Product marketing: Own positioning, messaging, go-to-market planning and sales enablement across Launcher, Montage and the wider portfolio, turning technical capabilities into clear customer and commercial value.

  • Demand generation: Design and deliver integrated campaigns that create awareness, engagement, qualified pipeline and revenue across direct and partner-led routes to market.

  • Partner and channel marketing: Strengthen DisplayNote’s proposition to OEMs, distributors, resellers, integrators and MSPs through co-marketing, launch support, partner enablement and joint demand generation.

  • Customer and market insight: Use buyer research, customer feedback, sales intelligence, product data and win/loss analysis to improve ICPs, messaging, campaigns and commercial decision-making.

  • Marketing operations and performance: Build a reliable marketing operating system covering CRM alignment, lead management, automation, attribution, dashboards and performance reporting.

  • Content and communications: Oversee content, thought leadership, PR, executive communications, website, events and digital channels, ensuring consistent messaging and effective reuse across the buyer journey.

  • Commercial alignment: Work closely with Sales, Product and Customer Success to improve proposition clarity, product launches, pipeline generation, customer engagement and market feedback loops.

  • Team and resource leadership: Lead and develop the Marketing Manager, manage agencies and external partners, and recommend the future skills, structure, technology and investment needed to scale the function.

  • Continuous improvement: Use AI and modern marketing practices responsibly to improve the speed, quality and efficiency of research, planning, execution and analysis.

Indicative Time Allocation During the First 12 Months

40% — Marketing delivery

Owning and improving campaigns, content, product launches, website activity, events, email marketing, social media, partner marketing and digital channels during maternity cover.

35% — Strategy and functional development

Developing marketing plans, improving positioning, building reporting, refining processes, managing external resources and designing the future marketing function.

25% — Commercial partnership

Working closely with Sales, Product and Customer Success to generate pipeline, improve buyer engagement, support strategic opportunities and strengthen commercial alignment.

This allocation will evolve as the Marketing Manager returns and the function matures.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months

  • Commercial contribution: Establish a clear, measurable contribution to qualified pipeline and revenue, with stronger evidence of which campaigns, audiences and messages create commercial value.

  • Brand and market impact: Successfully launch and embed the new brand platform, improve understanding of what DisplayNote does, and strengthen its position as the experience layer for shared spaces.

  • Marketing capability: Maintain strong delivery during the maternity-cover period while introducing a more disciplined planning, reporting, CRM and campaign operating model.

  • Product and sales enablement: Improve product positioning, launches and buyer messaging, while equipping commercial teams with clearer narratives, campaign tools, proof and market insight.

  • Leadership and team development: Build credibility with the leadership team, strengthen collaboration across Marketing, Sales and Product, and successfully transition the returning Marketing Manager into a clear and productive team structure.

Who You Are

You are a commercially focused B2B technology marketer who can move confidently between strategy and execution.

You are likely to have worked in a scaling software, SaaS or technology business where marketing needed to become more structured, commercially accountable and influential. You will be comfortable operating with ambiguity, using limited resources intelligently and building strong cross-functional relationships.

Essential Experience and Capabilities

  • Significant B2B software, SaaS or technology marketing experience, with ownership of strategy and measurable commercial outcomes.

  • Strong product-marketing capability across positioning, messaging, launches, sales enablement and buyer communication.

  • Experience building demand in a complex B2B environment and working closely with Sales to support pipeline and revenue growth.

  • Evidence of building, improving or maturing a marketing function, including planning, budgets, KPIs, reporting and performance management.

  • Strong customer and market insight skills, with the ability to turn evidence into better campaigns, propositions and decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills, including copywriting, presentations and the ability to explain technical products clearly.

  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders, setting priorities and challenging activity that lacks strategic value.

  • Experience leading or coaching marketers, agencies and external partners.

  • Comfortable balancing leadership with hands-on delivery.

  • Confident using AI responsibly to improve research, content, analysis and productivity.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in collaboration technology, AV, EdTech, workplace technology or enterprise software.

  • Experience marketing through OEM, reseller, distributor or channel partnerships.

  • Experience supporting both direct and indirect routes to market, including international growth.

  • Experience in embedded software, recurring-revenue or SaaS business models.

  • Familiarity with Zoho CRM, HubSpot or similar platforms.

  • Experience with PR, thought leadership or category-development programmes.

How We Work

DisplayNote is a growing technology company where marketing is becoming an increasingly important commercial function.

We value people who:

  • take ownership

  • communicate clearly

  • make decisions using evidence

  • work constructively across functions

  • move with appropriate speed

  • remain close to customers

  • use AI intelligently

  • improve the system, not just the output

  • are willing to challenge established thinking

  • care about both commercial performance and customer experience

You will work directly with the CEO, leadership team, Marketing Manager and colleagues across Sales, Product and Customer Success.

You will have meaningful autonomy to improve how marketing operates and to shape the role marketing plays in the future of the company.

Location and Working Pattern

This is a full-time hybrid role based at DisplayNote’s Belfast headquarters.

The successful candidate will be expected to spend regular time working with colleagues in Belfast while also supporting partners, customers and markets internationally.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: £55,000–£75,000, depending on experience.

The role is also eligible to participate in the Volaris annual performance bonus scheme.

Benefits include:

  • pension

  • private healthcare

  • hybrid working

  • gym membership

  • combined annual leave

  • leadership and professional-development opportunities

  • access to the wider Volaris Group network

  • long-term career and internal progression opportunities across a global family of software companies
