La Vaquita Flea Market is one of Georgia's largest Latino-focused indoor/outdoor markets, with 880 indoor booths, about 400 vendors, and thousands of families visiting every weekend. We're looking for a steady, professional security leader who can keep our vendors, customers, and staff safe while representing the market with respect and a service-first attitude.Position Summary
The Armed Security Supervisor is the lead security presence at the market on weekends. This person oversees safety and security across the indoor building, outdoor vending areas, and parking lots. They respond to incidents, de-escalate conflicts, coordinate with local law enforcement, and help build a more consistent, documented security program.Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the armed security presence during market hours, patrolling the indoor building, outdoor areas, and parking lots.
- Supervise and direct any additional security personnel, including post assignments and shift briefings. [Delete if no other security staff.]
- Monitor entrances and high-traffic areas, and respond quickly to disturbances, theft, lost children, medical situations, and other incidents.
- De-escalate conflicts between customers, vendors, or staff calmly and professionally, and use force only as a last resort and within the law.
- Coordinate with Jefferson Police, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, and Jefferson Fire Department when needed.
- Write clear, accurate incident reports the same day, and keep security logs current.
- Monitor security cameras and report any equipment problems.
- Support opening and closing procedures, including building checks and lot clearing.
- Assist with crowd management during special events and holiday weekends.
- Take part in the Saturday pre-market Weekend Operations meeting, and recommend improvements to security procedures.
- Follow and help enforce market rules, emergency procedures, and weather/power outage protocols.
Schedule
- Saturdays and Sundays only.
- Both weekend days are mandatory.

Requirements
- Current Georgia armed security officer registration and weapon permit through the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies, or the ability to obtain them before starting.
- At least [2–3] years of security, law enforcement, or military experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Clean background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, patrol outdoors in all weather, and respond quickly on foot.
- Strong written communication skills for incident reports.
- Must be available every Saturday and Sunday.
Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred, since most of our customers and vendors are Spanish-speaking).
- Background in law enforcement or the military.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience at retail, event, or large public venues.
