Senior Manager, Agency Strategy & Insights

An opportunity to join Manulife’s Asia Regional Distribution team as a Senior Manager, Agency Strategy & Insights, building deeper analytical and market-intelligence capabilities while supporting business units on strategically important agency priorities.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role requiring the rigor, independence and problem-solving ability of a top-tier consulting professional. The successful candidate will generate actionable insights from internal and external data and lead selected strategy workstreams—initially with a strong focus on agency compensation—in partnership with Market PICs, functional owners and business-unit stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

• Generate deeper business insights: Conduct robust analysis of agency performance, economics and business drivers; develop diagnostics, benchmarks, business cases and scenarios that identify root causes, opportunities and practical actions for business units and regional leadership.
• Build market intelligence: Systematically track competitor developments, industry news, emerging trends, regulatory developments and quantitative benchmarks across Asia, translating them into clear implications and recommendations for Regional Office and markets.
• Lead selected strategic workstreams: Independently structure and drive priority projects—initially focused on agency compensation—from problem definition and rigorous analysis through recommendation development, testing with markets and implementation planning.
• Partner for market relevance and execution: Work with Market PICs, who retain the overall market relationship and local context, and with functional owners, who retain their specialist mandates; provide the dedicated analytical and problem-solving capability for compensation and other specifically assigned topics, and produce senior-ready decision materials and pragmatic implementation roadmaps.

Required Qualifications:

• Top-tier consulting foundation: Strong experience in a leading strategy consulting firm, with demonstrated ownership of discrete workstreams at Associate or equivalent level; life insurance, agency distribution or compensation experience is advantageous.
• Analytical and commercial strength: Ability to independently structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex performance and market data, develop robust business cases and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• End-to-end delivery capability: Proven ability to take a workstream from problem definition through stakeholder alignment, implementation planning and targeted execution support, while managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
• Senior stakeholder communication: Excellent written, verbal and influencing skills, with the judgment to challenge constructively and produce concise, senior-ready presentations and decision materials.
