The Clinical Pharmacist provides specialized Pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• BS Pharmacy Degree
• Valid New Mexico Pharmacist license
• Maintain BLS and ACLS Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
• Clinical Experience
• IV Preparation Certification
• Chemotherapy Preparation Certification
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good leadership qualities
• Cooperative
• Energetic
• Good computer skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designs, implements and continually improves pharmaceutical care programs
• Provides pharmaceutical care to patients
• Assists Manager in preparation of department policies and procedures and protocols
• Assists Manager in preparation for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings
• Ensures that department education needs are met
• Provides medication management education to hospital licensed health professionals
• Assists in precepting pharmacy students
• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:

• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

• Subject to hazardous drug exposure (i.e. antineoplastics, antibiotics, anesthetic vapors and others)
• Subject to lifting twenty-five (25) pounds
• Standing or walking much of the shift
