Emerald Zebra Recruitment and Executive Search is seeking to hire a Senior System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to join the tech department of an iGaming / Online Casino that has relocated its operations to Limassol, Cyprus.

Location: Cyprus – On-site

Work Format: Full-time, on-site position. Hybrid or remote format may be considered only in exceptional cases.

Salary range: NET 3,000 - 4,000 Euros Monthly / NET 36,000 - 48,000 annually.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Administrator / DevOps Engineer with ideally a background in iGaming and online casino platforms or FinTech, Payments, or other high-load environments to join our client's technology team in Limassol, Cyprus.

Senior System Administrator / DevOps Engineer Role Overview: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, scalability, and uninterrupted operation of our iGaming platform infrastructure. This includes production and staging environments, cloud infrastructure, web servers, databases, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and integrations with game providers, payment providers, and other third-party services.

This role requires a strong security mindset, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to respond quickly to production incidents while continuously improving platform reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Production, Staging, and Development environments.
• Administer, secure, and optimize Linux servers.
• Ensure 24/7 platform availability, performance, and stability.
• Monitor infrastructure, APIs, databases, and network services.
• Detect, investigate, and resolve production incidents.
• Configure and manage Cloudflare services, including DNS, SSL/TLS, WAF, DDoS protection, firewall rules, rate limiting, bot management, and load balancing.
• Manage primary domains, mirror domains, and reverse proxy configurations.
• Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes infrastructure where applicable.
• Automate deployments, rollback procedures, and infrastructure operations.
• Manage backup, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
• Protect infrastructure against DDoS attacks, brute-force attempts, bots, scraping, and other security threats.
• Manage IP whitelisting for payment providers, game providers, and business partners.
• Securely manage secrets, API keys, SSL certificates, and service accounts.
• Collaborate with Developers, QA Engineers, Product Managers, and external providers.
• Prepare infrastructure documentation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports after major incidents.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a System Administrator or DevOps Engineer.
• Advanced Linux administration skills.
• Strong experience with Nginx (Apache is a plus).
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and networking.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
• Practical experience with Docker.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Experience using Git.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Experience with logging platforms such as ELK Stack, Loki, Graylog, or Splunk.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
• Understanding of backup, replication, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability architectures.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents independently.
• Good written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in iGaming, FinTech, Payments, or other high-load environments.
• Kubernetes administration.
• AWS CloudFront, Route53, EC2, RDS, S3, and Load Balancers.
• CrowdSec, Fail2ban, IDS/IPS, or SIEM platforms.
• PCI DSS and ISO 27001 knowledge.
• VPN, Bastion Host, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Database clustering and read-replica environments.
• Geo-blocking, mirror website infrastructure, and traffic routing.
• IP whitelist integrations for providers.
• On-call production support experience.
