Description
Mono County's Finance Department is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Fiscal Technical Specialist I, II, III, or IV to support the County's financial operations. This career series offers progressive opportunities for growth, with responsibilities increasing in complexity and independence based on experience and qualifications.
In this role, you will perform a variety of fiscal, accounting, and technical support functions, including maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing deposits, supporting payroll and budget activities, maintaining financial databases, and generating reports. You'll work closely with County departments, vendors, and the public to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and compliant with County policies and applicable regulations. Higher-level specialists serve as technical resources, perform more complex financial assignments, and may provide lead support or coordinate specialized fiscal functions.

Department Overview
The Mono County Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the County's financial integrity through sound fiscal management, accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and compliance with governmental accounting standards. The department partners with County departments to ensure public funds are managed responsibly, financial transactions are processed accurately, and resources are used efficiently in support of quality public services.

Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
FTS I
One (1) year of previous work experience in performing office, financial, or statistical support work.
FTS II
One (1) year of work experience in performing financial, statistical, assessment roll, treasury support, tax collection support, or document processing and recording work at a level comparable to Fiscal and Technical Specialist I with Mono County.
FTS III
Two (2) years of work experience in performing financial, statistical, assessment roll, treasury support, tax collection support, child support, or document processing and recording work at a level comparable to Fiscal and Technical Specialist II with Mono County.
FTS IV
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Two (2) years of work experience in performing financial, statistical, assessment roll, treasury support, tax collection support, child support, benefits, collections, information technology, or document processing and recording work at a level comparable to Fiscal and Technical Specialist III with Mono County.
