Description
IT Business Analyst
This position is ideal for a seasoned Business Analyst who can bridge business and technology teams to deliver complex transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will lead requirements and solution analysis, drive stakeholder engagement, support end-to-end project delivery, and help ensure successful adoption of business solutions. Experience with policy administration systems, insurance transformation programs, and complex cross-functional environments will be highly advantageous.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct business scoping workshops with stakeholders, gather requirements from insurance business teams, and develop business requirements and user stories for sign-off.
Perform gap analysis between business requirements and existing system/product capabilities.
Analyze business issues, perform impact assessments, and recommend appropriate solutions and best practices.
Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives and outcomes.
Manage requirement changes, project risks, issue escalation, and timeline adherence in collaboration with Project Managers.
Work closely with architects, developers, and technical teams to validate requirements and assess technical feasibility.
Coordinate across business SMEs, sponsors, testers, vendors, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Support QA activities, including test scenario reviews, SIT/UAT support, defect resolution, and business acceptance sign-off.
Facilitate user training, SOP discussions, and business adoption of implemented solutions.
Required Qualifications:
7–15 years of overall work experience, including at least 3–5 years in the financial industry.
Strong business analysis experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex issues and requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in cross-functional and multi-vendor environments.
Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, tools, and controls (e.g., JIRA, Visio, Mural).
Strong teamwork, adaptability, commitment, and collaboration skills.
Good command of both English and Mandarin.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of life insurance business domains, products, and operational processes.
Experience working with Policy Administration Systems (PAS) and Workflow Management Systems.
Experience delivering transformation or modernization projects within the life insurance industry.
Expertise in managing complex, interdependent projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
