HOUSEKEEPER – PRIVATE FAMILY | PARBOLD, NEAR WIGAN
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Full-time | Live-in or Live-out | January 2027 Start
The Northern Nanny Agency is delighted to be assisting a relaxed and welcoming private family in Parbold, near Wigan, with the appointment of an experienced, professional housekeeper to care for their substantial family home.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated housekeeper who takes genuine pride in their work, enjoys maintaining a beautifully presented property and is confident working independently within a private household.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the household, ensuring the property is maintained to an exceptionally high standard. Duties will include:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of a large private residence.
- All aspects of housekeeping, including detailed cleaning and general household organisation.
- Laundry, ironing and the careful management of household linens and clothing.
- Ensuring the home remains beautifully presented and well organised at all times.
- Caring for the family’s three large dogs, including their daily needs and general wellbeing.
- House sitting and maintaining the property when the family travel abroad.
- Ensuring the dogs receive consistent, attentive care during the family’s absence.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is seeking an experienced housekeeper who is discreet, trustworthy, organised and takes real pride in delivering a high standard of work.
Previous experience within a large private residence or a similar household environment would be highly advantageous. Candidates must be confident working on their own initiative, managing their responsibilities independently and caring for three large dogs.
As the family travels abroad frequently, the successful candidate must be comfortable remaining at the property for periods of time, providing reliable house-sitting services and ensuring both the home and dogs are exceptionally well cared for.
Accommodation
For candidates interested in a live-in position, a separate private annexe is provided, offering independent accommodation away from the main family residence.
A live-out arrangement will also be considered.
The Opportunity
This is a long-term position with a relaxed family who are looking for someone reliable, committed and genuinely invested in their home. The role would suit a housekeeper who values a positive working environment and is looking to establish a lasting relationship with a private household.
