Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Transformation Lead leads the UK’s AI-native commercial transformation and is a member of the UK commercial leadership team, reporting to the Country President. Geographic scope: United Kingdom.
The role has two connected parts: it runs a disciplined programme of pilots that use AI and data to reach and serve patients and customers in new ways and scales what works into everyday practice; and it builds the AI skills, tools and ways of working the UK needs to run this model well. It sets the overall programme across the functions and teams contributing to transformation — holding coherence, sequencing, the cross-programme view and pilot and budget oversight — while individual leads run day-to-day delivery.
As the senior role in the Transformation Office, it also brings the running of today’s business and the building of tomorrow’s capability together, working closely with the Country President as the connective layer across the business units. It therefore holds the operational function supporting the platforms and day-to-day business, and is accountable — through the Operations Lead and the team’s administrative support — for the integrated Operating Plan and operating rhythm of the function and for the standard of administrative support to the Country President and the UK Management Forum (UKMF). Every accountability is tested against growth and patient impact.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategic leadership & programme coherence: Act as thought partner to the Country President, UK leadership and International; set and hold the overall transformation programme — coherence, sequencing and the cross-programme view — together with pilot and budget oversight across the portfolio, including the six-month go/no-go gate, recommending into Country President and International governance.
• External environment & partnerships: Understand the external landscape (payer, policy, AI-platform, real-world-evidence), identify the partnerships the UK should develop and represent Pfizer externally, positioning the UK as a test-and-learn market whose approaches other markets can adopt.
• AI-native transformation oversight Be accountable that gated pilots are adopted and create measurable value and meet AI governance and ethics standards before scaling; hold sign-off and budget authority over AI tooling and platform vendors; set the strategic sequencing of AI-native process redesign with the business units; and escalate agentic-AI risk beyond the UK’s authority.
• Operating plan & business rhythm: Own the Transformation Office’s contribution to and the integrated running of the UK Operating Plan — the annual plan, milestones, operating rhythm and governance cadence — and give the Country President and leadership team a joined-up view for deliberate trade-offs, while the Operations Lead executes detailed planning, tracking and delivery.
• Oversight of the Country President’s office & UK Management Forum: Be accountable for the standard and coordination of administrative support to the Country President’s team and for the effective running of the UK Management Forum (UKMF) — agenda, forward planning, governance papers and follow-through — delivered through the Operations Lead and the team’s administrative support.
• Engagement, people & leadership: Accountability for colleague engagement and communication oversight in relation to operating plan and transformation maintaining coherence with and delivery within broad One Pfizer context. Lead and develop a high-performing team; prioritise talent, succession and coaching; build future-ready capability in AI fluency, experimentation and complex portfolio decision-making; and model Pfizer values through visible, inclusive leadership.
• Ways of working & compliance: Set the standard for responsible AI adoption; maintain rigorous budget, forecast, risk and performance management with Finance and governance forums; promote a speak-up culture and ensure adverse events and product complaints are reported; and work in line with company policies, SOPs, Pfizer values and ABPI requirements.
