Description

About the Role

The Technology Operations & Cybersecurity Lead reports to the Digital Manager and is based in the Tysons Corner (McLean), VA area. This role serves as the primary internal owner of MEI's technology operations and cybersecurity program, ensuring the company's technology ecosystem remains secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

Working across the organization, the Technology Operations & Cybersecurity Lead partners closely with employees, business leaders, and the Digital team to deliver exceptional technology experiences while driving operational excellence. This individual also serves as the primary relationship manager for MEI's managed technology partners, including our IT Managed Service Provider (MSP), virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO), and Managed Detection and Response (MDR/SOC) providers, ensuring services are coordinated effectively, priorities remain aligned with business needs, and initiatives are executed successfully.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role that combines technology operations, cybersecurity, vendor management, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, embraces ownership, and is energized by solving complex problems. They are equally comfortable supporting day-to-day technology operations, partnering on strategic initiatives, improving business processes, and helping shape and support MEI's evolving technology ecosystem.

This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth, broad exposure across the business, and the ability to make a lasting impact while supporting MEI's continued expansion as a leader in distributed generation solar and battery energy storage projects.

What You’ll Own

  • Employee Technology Experience – Partner with employees, business leaders, and the Digital team to deliver exceptional technology support, implement business solutions, and enhance the overall employee technology experience.
  • IT Operations – Oversee technology operations, including user lifecycle management, identity and access, endpoint management, software licensing, and technology asset management.
  • Cybersecurity Program – Coordinate MEI's cybersecurity program in partnership with the MSP, vCISO, and MDR/SOC teams, including incident response, vulnerability management, governance, security policies, and operational runbooks.
  • Reporting & Metrics – Monitor and report on technology operations, cybersecurity posture, service performance, and organizational risk through meaningful metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Business Solutions – Partner with the Digital team and business stakeholders to implement and support technologies that improve business operations, strengthen security, and support MEI's continued growth.
  • Security Culture – Serve as a trusted technology advisor, fostering operational excellence, security awareness, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.
