About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician Assistant (PA) to provide high-quality medical care to veterans in Oswego, NY. In this role, you will collaborate with an integrated primary care team (PACT) to deliver comprehensive outpatient care and foster exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Examine, diagnose, and treat primary care patients under the supervision of a physician.
Formulate and manage continuous patient treatment plans.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, ECGs, lab work).
Prescribe medications and counsel patients on medication use, wellness, and mental health.
Maintain prompt, complete documentation within 24 hours of patient encounters.
Adhere to government/federal healthcare guidelines, formulary protocols, and compliance standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in PA studies required (Master’s preferred); graduate of an accredited PA program.
Experience: Combined academic training and primary/ambulatory care experience (government/veteran healthcare setting preferred).
Licensure & Certification:
Active, unrestricted PA state license.
Credentialed and in good standing through federal/veteran healthcare guidelines.
Active DEA registration.
Current BLS (and ACLS, if applicable) certification.
