Join Our Team as a Quality Inspector!
Under limited supervision, the Quality Inspector works independently to perform quality inspections and tests on all products. Quality Inspectors use a variety of tools for measurement, verification, and testing, as well as monitor repairs that arise during the manufacturing process. Initial primary responsibilities will be geared towards the qualify of upstream processes and departments outside of the hand weld bay to include; bar lines, plasma's, detail parts, panel, secondary, trim and shipping.
In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies and contributing to the company's Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment the following briefly describes the activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed.
Perform and coordinate product and process inspections
Troubleshoot daily issues which impact part quality
Assist in maintaining quality through training new and existing Machine Operators and Welders
Actively participate in continous improvement and corrective action activities
Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level
Skills & Competencies
Strong computer skills
Research and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
Ability to work and learn independently
Ability to read and understand blueprints, fab ref drawings, and DRW's
Understanding of all weld defects and flaws common to gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW) as outlined is ASW D1.1
Working knowledge of the techniques and proper use of various types of weld measuring devices used in product inspection and testing
familiarity with outside agency codes, standards, testing procedures, processes and shop practices.
Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and commonly used industry terminology
