[What the role is]
Border health is a critical part of Singapore's public health defence. As part of the border health team, you will be at the frontline of protecting Singapore against communicable disease threats at our points of entry — translating evidence into policy, and policy into action.You will apply a working knowledge of the International Health Regulations (IHR) and local legislation and policy frameworks to design, refine, and implement effective border health measures. The work sits at the intersection of public health, policy, and operations, and requires someone who can manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

[What you will be working on]
- Designing and refining disease prevention and control strategies at points of entry, drawing on the IHR framework and Singapore’s legislative and policy levers to ensure measures are robust, proportionate, and fit for purpose
- Leading and supporting surveillance programmes, and playing an active role in the management of outbreaks and public health incidents — including deploying the right regulatory and policy instruments to enable a timely response
- Providing technical subject matter expertise for border health, including coordination with border agencies and stakeholders ensure a whole-of-government response to public health threats
- Overseeing programme management and administration to keep operations running smoothly
[What we are looking for]
- Preferably a Tertiary qualification with good honours in a life sciences discipline, or a medical/nursing background
- Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or equivalent (preferred)
- At least 2 to 3 years of work experience in public health, or border health (policy or operations)
- Strong analytical skillsets, including grasp of data analysis techniques
- Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously on different projects
- Excellent organisational skills and resourcefulness
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across disciplines
- Willing to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks
- Committed to keeping abreast of developments in the communicable diseases field
