From repairing building systems and maintaining HVAC equipment to snow removal and preventative maintenance, you'll play an important role in supporting the employees, residents, and visitors who rely on County facilities every day.

Every day brings something different. You'll:
Perform general building maintenance and repairs
Assist with HVAC, boiler, plumbing, and electrical maintenance
Complete preventative maintenance inspections
Repair walls, doors, flooring, fixtures, furniture, and equipment
Maintain County grounds through mowing, trimming, landscaping, and seasonal cleanup
Remove snow and ice to keep facilities safe during Wisconsin winters
Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
Help maintain building security systems, keys, and access devices
Support custodial operations during high-demand periods
Operate maintenance tools, equipment, and County vehicles safely
- Work both independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team
We're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in quality work, and values teamwork.
Successful candidates will have:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of custodial, janitorial, building maintenance, or related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License
Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
Strong communication and customer service skills
- A commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning
This is an active, hands-on position that includes:
Working indoors and outdoors throughout the year
Using hand and power tools, lifts, ladders, and maintenance equipment
Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
Responding to weather events and occasional after-hours maintenance emergencies
Working safely around mechanical systems, equipment, and building infrastructure
