About Our Family
We’re a busy, active family of four based in Lake St. Louis. Both parents work full-time outside the home with early starts and full days, and our schedules often extend into the evening with work, sports, and family logistics. Our two boys (ages 5 and 8) are in school full-time and very active with after-school sports and activities, so our home tends to be at its busiest in the afternoons and early evenings.
We also have two mini golden doodles who are very much part of the daily rhythm—one older and opinionated, one younger and more energetic.
We’re a health-conscious, active household that values organization, efficiency, and order at home. We relocated to the Midwest several years ago and have built our life here—it’s home for us, and we want our house to feel calm, structured, and enjoyable to come back to.
At the moment, we’re feeling the strain in the day-to-day flow—late meals, laundry piling up, and weekends spent catching up instead of resetting and enjoying time together. We’re looking for someone who can bring structure and consistency, and help us stay ahead so our home runs more smoothly during the week.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
The right person for this role is someone who walks in, takes stock of what needs to happen, and gets to work—without needing a detailed to-do list each afternoon. You’re proactive, organized, and take genuine pride in creating a home that runs smoothly. You communicate clearly and appropriately: you’ll flag what matters, but you don’t over-narrate every task. You read the room, understand priorities in real time, and know when to take initiative versus when to check in.
You’re physically active and comfortable being around energetic kids. Our younger son has a big personality and a lot of energy—you should be someone who can jump into that world, kick a soccer ball around, and stay steady in the middle of the chaos. You’re warm and trustworthy, and kids tend to connect with you easily, but you also understand this is a household management role first.
It’s also important to us that you align with evidence-based health practices, are up to date on vaccinations, and maintain a smoke-free lifestyle while on the job. If you have a reliable vehicle and are comfortable transporting children safely and responsibly when needed, we’d love to meet you.
Note: We’d prefer it if you’re open to regular cleaning duties in addition to the responsibilities below - but not a requirement!
