JC Licht is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Specialist at our West Loop location.

This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day organization and operation of the warehouse, including receiving deliveries, stocking product, picking orders, maintaining inventory and helping ensure product is stored safely and accurately. During downtime, the Warehouse Specialist may also assist the Store Manager and store team with stocking, merchandising and other operational needs.

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable with physical work and able to stay productive both independently and under the direction of a supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Unload, receive and properly store incoming deliveries
• Stock product in the warehouse and on store shelves
• Pick and prepare orders accurately and efficiently
• Assist with loading customer and store deliveries as needed
• Verify orders and loads against shipping paperwork
• Properly handle and store product to minimize damage
• Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack
• Assist with warehouse organization and maintain clean, safe work areas
• Follow established product locations, shelving layouts and planograms
• Process UPS shipments and prepare products for shipping
• Package products appropriately for storage, shipment or delivery
• Manage waste materials according to company procedures
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels through cycle counting
• Help identify and correct inventory or stocking discrepancies
• Assist the Store Manager and store team with additional duties during downtime
• Perform general warehouse cleanup and maintenance
• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, stocking, receiving or inventory experience preferred
• Forklift and/or electric pallet jack experience strongly preferred
• Ability to follow planograms, stocking layouts and organizational systems
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize work and stay on task throughout the day
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with a supervisor
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Dependable, punctual and team-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail and warehouse environment

Physical Requirements

This is an active, physical position. Candidates must be comfortable:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Regularly bending, reaching, pushing and pulling
• Frequently lifting and moving paint, supplies and other merchandise
• Loading and unloading product
• Using warehouse equipment such as carts, pallet jacks and forklifts
• Working throughout both warehouse and retail store areas

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Previous warehouse, stocking, receiving or inventory experience preferred
• Forklift and electric pallet jack experience preferred
• Ability to safely lift, load, unload and move products weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push and pull throughout the workday
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to stay on task and manage priorities
• Ability to accurately pick, stock and organize product throughout the warehouse and store
• Ability to follow planograms, stocking layouts and established inventory procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining an organized, safe and clean work environment
• Ability to follow direction while also working effectively and independently with limited supervision
• Dependable, punctual and willing to assist wherever needed as part of the store and warehouse team
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred for occasional delivery or operational needs
