Software Development Engineer (SDE)
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Development Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and cloud data engineering. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building and supporting scalable data pipelines and cloud-based integration solutions across modern data platforms.
This role requires a strong foundation in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT concepts, and cloud services, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and loading
- Build and optimize data warehouse solutions in Snowflake for analytics and reporting use cases
- Work with AWS services including:
- AWS Glue
- AWS Lambda
- AWS SNS
- AWS S3
- Support integration with additional cloud technologies and data platforms as needed
- Develop and manage event-driven and streaming workflows using Kafka (basic to medium level)
- Implement and maintain Snowflake capabilities such as:
- RBAC and ABAC
- Snowpipes
- Dynamic Tables
- Write efficient SQL queries for transformation, validation, and analytics
- Develop Python-based automation scripts and data processing logic
- Build and orchestrate workflows using Airflow/Step Functions
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and operational reliability across pipelines
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement practical technical solutions
- Document data architecture, process flows, and operational procedures
Required Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or related roles
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- AWS Glue
- AWS Lambda
- AWS SNS
- AWS S3
- Working knowledge of Kafka (basic to medium level)
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Fundamentals of Snowflake:
- RBAC
- ABAC
- Snowpipes
- Dynamic Tables
- Experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration
- Basic to moderate exposure to other cloud technologies and services
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong critical thinking and a team-first mindset
Desired Skills (Not Mandatory)
- Familiarity with Pentaho for ETL/data integration workflows
- Exposure to additional cloud services such as:
- AWS EMR
- Redshift
- Athena
- Step Functions
- IAM / CloudWatch / EventBridge
- Familiarity with distributed systems, data lakes, and streaming architectures
- Understanding of data governance, security, and access controls in cloud environments
