Senior Manager, Oracle EPM Platforms

Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Manager to serve as the architect and platform owner for our Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Cloud landscape, spanning EPBCS (Planning & Budgeting), FCCS (Financial Consolidation), ARCS (Account Reconciliation) and EDMCS (Enterprise Data Management). This role owns the end-to-end architecture, integration design, and roadmap across all four platforms, and acts as the primary escalation point our internal teams & vendors. The role is expected to lead concurrent EPM implementation and enhancement projects. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing calculation manager scripts and Groovy business rules as they are setting strategy with finance and IT leadership — someone who can design, build, and troubleshoot personally, while directing and holding both a managed service team and parallel implementation teams accountable to timelines, quality, and roadmap commitments.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Platform Ownership
•    Own the end-to-end solution architecture across EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS, and EDMCS, ensuring designs are scalable, secure, and aligned to enterprise data and finance standards.
•    Design and build EPM Cloud configurations (Essbase/hybrid, business rules, calculation manager scripts, Groovy business rules, task lists, forms, and dashboards) directly, without relying solely on the managed service team for build work.
•    Architect and maintain integrations between EDMCS and downstream applications (EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS) to ensure consistent dimensionality, mappings, and hierarchy governance across the metadata model.
•    Design and support data integration pipelines (EPM Automate, REST APIs, Data Management/FDMEE, Data Integration) between EPM applications, the GL/ERP source systems, and downstream reporting tools.
•    Configure and optimize reconciliation rules, matching logic, and workflows for account reconciliations in ARCS, aligned with close calendar and controls requirements.

Key Responsibilities
•    Define and maintain the multi-year technology roadmap for the EPM platform footprint, incorporating Oracle's quarterly cloud release features, new capabilities, and deprecations.
•    Direct and coordinate EPM support team, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations, incident escalation, enhancement requests, and release coordination.
•    Review and validate MSP deliverables (SLAs, response/resolution times, ticket quality, code/config standards) against contractual and internal expectations, and drive corrective action when performance slips.
•    Author technical specifications and architecture guardrails for tasks assigned to the managed service team, including detailed requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria, to ensure work is built correctly the first time.
•    Serve as the technical liaison between the MSP and internal stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical scope the service team can execute against.
•    Manage the shared backlog of enhancements, defects, and change requests across all four platforms, prioritizing based on business impact, risk, and platform roadmap.
 
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
•    Partner directly with FP&A, Accounting/Controllership, and Financial Reporting leadership to translate evolving business requirements into platform enhancements.
•    Present regularly on architecture decisions, platform health, roadmap progress, and risk to finance and IT executive leadership.
•    Maintain deep functional knowledge of the underlying business processes (planning, consolidation, reconciliation, and master data management) to design fit-for-purpose solutions rather than one-off fixes.
•    Mentor or oversee a small internal team of EPM analysts/administrators where applicable, in addition to managing the external managed service relationship.

Platform Scope
Direct architectural and functional ownership across the following Oracle EPM Cloud modules:
•    EPBCS (Enterprise Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service): Multi-dimensional planning, budgeting, and forecasting models; Smart View/Web forms; business rules; workforce, capital, and project planning modules as applicable.
•    FCCS (Financial Consolidation & Close Cloud Service): Financial consolidation, intercompany eliminations, currency translation, ownership management, and close process automation.
•    ARCS (Account Reconciliation Cloud Service): Reconciliation compliance, transaction matching, integration with source sub-ledgers, and close task automation.
•    EDMCS (Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service): Enterprise dimension and hierarchy governance, metadata synchronization, and mapping across all connected EPM and ERP applications.

Required Qualifications
•    8+ years of progressive experience in Finance Systems, IT, or Enterprise Applications, with at least 4+ years in a hands-on Oracle EPM architect or lead role.
•    Demonstrated hands-on experience building configuring, and supporting at least three of the four platforms: EPBCS, FCCS, ARCS, EDMCS.
•    Prior experience managing a managed service provider (MSP) or managing outsourced/offshore application support teams against SLAs.
•    Proven track record running multiple concurrent EPM implementation projects (e.g., new module rollouts, upgrades, migrations) alongside steady-state managed services, including coordinating systems integrators or contract resources across overlapping timelines.
•    Strong working knowledge with EPM Automate, REST/SOAP APIs, Groovy (business rule scripting), Data Management/FDMEE, and Smart View.
•    Solid understanding of Essbase concepts (block storage/aggregate storage), dimension design, and calculation logic.
•    Working knowledge of core FP&A, consolidation, and account reconciliation business processes and controls (e.g., SOX).
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to finance executives.
•    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
•    Oracle EPM Cloud certification(s) (e.g., Oracle EPM Cloud implementation certifications for Planning, FCCS, ARCS, or EDMCS).
•    Prior experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency organization supporting a large or global enterprise environment.
•    Experience integrating EPM Cloud (e.g., through Data Integration/FDMEE) to major ERP platforms (Oracle Fusion, SAP, Workday, NetSuite, etc.).
•    SQL or scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, VBScript, or similar) for automation of EPM operational tasks.
•    Familiarity of Oracle's quarterly readiness process and change management practices for cloud EPM environments.

•    Parallel workstream management. Can run several implementation workstreams and the managed service queue at once without losing track of dependencies or priorities.
