Role Overview
In this role, you will lead the front-end team in developing responsive and high-performance user interfaces while collaborating closely with UI/UX designers and product managers to ensure design feasibility. You will maintain rigorous code quality standards through code reviews, optimize application performance for scalability, and act as a mentor to junior and mid-level developers. Additionally, you will serve as a key technical resource by unblocking the team, resolving complex bugs, and contributing to the growth of the engineering team through effective hiring and onboarding processes.
Position Responsibilities
Develop User Interfaces: Lead the front-end team in development related activities, while addressing and resolving technical queries from the team.
Collaborate on Design: Collaborate with UI/UX designers to turn visual designs into working code.
Maintain Code Quality: Conduct internal code reviews and enforce the writing of clean, well-documented, and testable code adhering to Google coding standards.
Optimize Performance: Employ advanced techniques to ensure applications load quickly, run seamlessly, and scale across diverse devices and web browsers.
Mentoring: Guiding junior and mid-level developers, pairing with them on complex bugs, and helping them level up their skills.
Unblocking: Acting as a shield for the team by removing technical hurdles, resolving access issues, or clarifying ambiguous requirements.
Hiring & Onboarding: Participating in technical interviews and creating seamless onboarding processes for new engineering hires.
Aligning with Product & Design: Working closely with Product Managers and UX/UI Designers to assess technical feasibility, negotiate scope, and ensure designs are practical to build.
Minimum Requirements
Professional Experience: A solid background with a minimum of 4–6 years of professional experience working as a Developer, combined with demonstrated capability in team leadership, guiding technical initiatives, and mentoring team members.
Technical Capabilities: Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Framework Expertise: Practical, hands-on experience utilizing modern frameworks, particularly Angular.
Development Tools: Familiarity with modern build tools such as Webpack and Vite, Git for version control, and state management libraries.
CMS Proficiency: Skilled in working with various content management systems, including both traditional/coupled and headless CMS architectures.
Interpersonal Skills: A strong eye for detail, outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, a passion for crafting excellent user experiences, and exceptional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
