The Boeing CompanyBoeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production Test team in Berkeley, MO. This position will be supporting all major Air Dominance programs in the St. Louis area. The position specifically involves production test support for Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) fighter programs.
The Production Test team delivers and supports special test equipment, processes, and software for build verification of electrical/airframe/avionics/optical subsystems to ensure product quality and safe operation. Build verification is ensuring Boeing products are manufactured per engineering design to meet intended functional requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops fabrication work instructions for Special Test Equipment (STE) used to test tactical aircraft electrical/electronic/fiber optic subsystems & avionics
Provides fabrication shop with manufacturing/assembly solutions for STE
Creates Additive Manufacturing solutions and innovations for cost & quality benefits
Collaborates with industrial engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and shop fabricators
Supports resolution of STE fabrication issues to meet high technical and quality standards
Researches technologies for potential application to company business needs
Supports manufacturing processes to meet J-STD-001 standard soldering requirements
Monitors suppliers' performance to ensure compliance with requirements
Develops or modifies manufacturing work instructions based on design drawings, 3D-models, wiring diagrams & schematics
Helps to manage STE fabrication shop workflow for efficient operations
Applies knowledge of critical path network methodology for STE production requirements
Supports maintenance and modification of existing STE designs
Provides instruction to STE fab shop for building & testing wire harness assemblies
Performs make or buy decisions in support of STE assemblies, subassemblies, & detail parts
Prepares STE usage instructions for aircraft production test operations
Analyzes aircraft configuration Change Documents for STE impacts
Assists with providing basis-of-estimates for STE statement of work
Reports on weekly percent complete status for assigned manufacturing engineering tasks
Works under general supervision
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Berkeley, MO.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required
This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
1+ years experience with parametric 3D CAD design (Solidworks, CATIA, AutoCAD, Rhino, and/or NX)
1+ years’ experience with NX/Unigraphics CAD and Teamcenter PDM systems for design interrogation, manufacturing planning development and tooling design review
Aerospace related experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures, or experience during a project at school or during an internship
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Familiarity with air vehicle subsystems, and avionics subsystems
Familiarity with supporting aerospace manufacturing build verification test operations
Experience in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems and components
Experience in development programs (integration, test phases), production support, or sustainment engineering
