Description
Associate / Vice President – Acquisition Finance NL & DACH
Join one of Europe’s leading leveraged finance franchises!
ING’s Acquisition Finance (AF) NL & DACH team is looking to hire an Associate or Vice President to join our team in Amsterdam
This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in the origination and execution of complex leveraged finance transactions for leading private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies and leveraged corporates across the Benelux and DACH regions. The Acquisition Finance team is part of Wholesale Banking’s Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) business and provides highly structured financing solutions to support leveraged buyouts, refinancings and recapitalisations. Transactions typically involve senior secured loans, often alongside second lien debt and high-yield bonds, as well as committed working capital, capex and acquisition facilities. Many transactions are underwritten by ING and subsequently syndicated to the institutional investor market, creating extensive exposure to the full transaction lifecycle and close collaboration with teams including Loan Capital Markets, High Yield Debt Capital Markets, Ratings Advisory and Agency.
As part of a global Acquisition Finance platform of over 100 professionals across EMEA, APAC and the US, the NL & DACH team originates and executes transactions for sponsor-owned and leveraged corporate clients with EBITDA exceeding €25 million. The team has consistently been recognised as one of the leading leveraged finance team in Europe, ranking as the #1 Benelux Leveraged Loan Bookrunner (2022–YTD 2026) and receiving the Best Acquisition Finance Provider in the Netherlands award on multiple occasions.
This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most prominent and complex transactions in the leveraged loans market while developing deep expertise in leveraged finance, credit underwriting, and financial sponsors coverage.
Your role
As an Associate or Vice President, you will take ownership of key workstreams and play a leading role throughout the transaction process, from initial deal evaluation to transaction execution. Your responsibilities will include:

- Steering key workstreams as part of the internal credit approval process, incl. financial and risk analyses;
- Driving discussions with internal stakeholders, including Risk and approval committees;
- Working closely with the Loan Syndicate team on syndication processes, including the preparation of investor marketing materials and coordination of investor Q&A processes;
- Preparing client pitches and marketing materials, and contributing to originating new business opportunities and overall client management;
- Coaching and mentoring of analysts, trainees and interns;
- Reviewing transaction documentation and negotiating key terms with external counsel in close collaboration with ING Legal;
- Supporting the Portfolio Management team in the management of ING’s existing Acquisition Finance portfolio, including amendment and waiver processes and identifying opportunities with existing clients; and
- Contributing to a strong risk culture through ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Your working environment
You will join a high-performing, entrepreneurial and close-knit team where individuals are given meaningful responsibility from an early stage and are expected to make a tangible impact on transactions. The NL & DACH Acquisition Finance team consists of approximately 25 professionals based in Amsterdam and Frankfurt. Key attributes of the team are creativity, diversity and complexity that make this business an area particularly suited for team players with strong analytical skills, tenacity, eye for detail and commercial drive combined with an ability to perform under tight deadlines.
