GPC Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced Systems Developer to join our Business Systems Solutions Group.
Reporting to the Application Team Lead, you will design, develop, enhance and support business-critical solutions within our core mainframe-based ERP environment. This role is ideal for a developer with deep CICS COBOL expertise who enjoys solving complex integration and application challenges.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, develop, test, debug and deploy mainframe application solutions.
- Support and enhance GPC Asia Pacific’s core mainframe-based ERP system.
- Map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems.
- Partner with Business Analysts to prepare solution and design documentation.
- Assess solution options for technical and business suitability.
- Prepare and oversee testing schedules, environments and test strategies.
- Coordinate implementation of new functionality and system changes.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Systems Integration, PMO, developers and third-party providers.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation.
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years’ experience in mainframe application design and development.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- CICS
- COBOL
- MVS
- JCL
- TSO
- Datacom-DB
- DB2
- VSAM
- Experience developing system integrations using Mainframe CICS Web Services.
- Strong analysis, solution design, testing and debugging skills.
- Experience with Datacom-DB will be highly regarded.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
