Job Title: Financial Governance Reporting Support - Submarines
Working location: Bristol, Abbey Wood
We are currently recruiting for a Financial Governance Reporting Support to join our Cost Control team for Rolls-Royce Submarines team based in Bristol, Abbey Wood.
This is an entry-level position and would be suitable for the individual to have experience of undertaking data analysis and studying for their AAT (although not essential).

As the Financial Governance Reporting Support, you will record, analyse and report project costs and undertake related cost control activities, ensuring all financial and performance reporting requirements are met. You will provide assurance that projects comply with MoD and partners policy in respect of all cost activities, providing support to, and working under the guidance of the Cost Control Finance Lead and the wider team.
What you will be doing:
•Producing accurate and timely forecasts ensuring any variance and financial risk commentary is accurate and insightful.
• Providing Financial input, challenge and information at the PM/CAM monthly FOO reviews to empower stakeholder decision making.
• Entering and reconciling cost information into various project financial systems from business case approvals, options and change requests, ensuring a clear audit trail. Consistently monitor project cost spend against these approvals.
• Challenging and interpreting supply chains cost data to support accruals and project forecasting. Producing accurate supporting data and inputs for the Annual Budget Cycle process in conjunction with PM/PCM, Consolidating project data to produce the PCR forecast for the benefit of the whole delivery team. Oversee the collation of the Senior Manager Screening Packs.
• Producing accrual and general journals and option proposals to ensure robust supporting evidence is included. Actively support the Cost Control Finance lead with any audit and compliance requests.
• Supporting Estimators to develop cost models and assist in the production of Investment Appraisals.
• Liaising with finance colleagues to ensure the correct financial treatment. Work with PMS to make necessary corrections in CP&F.
• Working with PM/Scheduler/PCM to implement Cost Loaded Schedules, to drive forecasting. Assist with the production of EVM analysis to demonstrate project performance and analyse variances to plan, determine impact on the schedule and cost to complete the scope of work. Ensure consistency with IYM and EVM reporting.
• Providing support and training to other staff as required to deliver the needs of the Cost Control Team.
• Communicating key project financial performance data to key member of the project, programme and Finance leadership.
• Influencing Leadership within the Programme, MoD and Supply chain within the Cost Control technical field.
Position Qualifications:
- Previous experience of undertaking data analysis/interpretation of financial information would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent grades 9 – 4 (A* to C) including English and Maths.
- It would be desirable to have 2 x A Levels grades A* to E in any subject or equivalent.
- May be working towards an AAT qualification, although not essential for the role.
To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
