Job Description:

National Director – Armenia

The National Director (ND) is responsible for driving World Vision Armenia’s mission and strategic direction. The ND provides leadership in overseeing the organization’s overall performance and management of day‑to‑day operations. The ND ensures operational and financial sustainability through organizational development, wise stewardship, funding diversification, and effective risk management and compliance.

The ND manages the Senior Leadership Team and staff, ensuring full alignment with World Vision’s Global Partnership Strategy Our Promise, while meeting desired goals and objectives. The ND supports and participates in the WVA Board, representing World Vision to donors, project partners, government, church representatives, and NGOs.

The National Director role faces significant organizational challenges and external pressures requiring high-quality leadership, a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry, and integrity and is one who leads by example through lifestyle and work relationships, and providing spiritual guidance to staff on the organization’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values. This office has 85% Grants, 8% Local Sponsorship & 7% Private Funding​.

The ND reports to the Chairperson of World Vision Armenia’s Governing Board, with matrix reporting to the Regional Leader of World Vision’s Middle East and Eastern Europe Region (MEER).

Here's where you come in:

• You will be a leader who provides overall strategic and operational leadership for World Vision Armenia Branch and Foundation (WVA). 
• Providing leadership that enables maximising our impact for Child well-being, minimising WV’s risk and aligning to the World Vision Family Likeness as a Self-funded office.
• Ensuring WVA is appropriately structured, financially viable and appropriately resourced and compliant with WV policies.
• Representing WV to all donors, project partners, other WV Partnership offices and divisions, local Government, Church representatives and non-governmental organizations serving according to given Power of Attorney.
• Supporting and participating in WVA Board.

Your Key Responsibilities will include: 

Leadership and Management of WV Armenia Branch and Foundation

• Lead World Vision Armenia with vision, integrity, and accountability. Build high-performing teams, develop leaders, promote inclusion, and ensure strong stewardship of people, resources, and programs.

Ministry Performance (Standards and Accountability)

• Drive impactful, high-quality programming that improves child well-being, ensures safeguarding and accountability, and delivers measurable results aligned with strategic priorities.

Representation and Networking

• Serve as World Vision Armenia’s chief representative, strengthening partnerships with government, donors, NGOs, and diaspora networks while advancing children's rights and well-being.

Sustainability of Self-Funded Office

• Provide strategic leadership to strengthen governance, diversify funding, enhance organizational visibility, and ensure the long-term sustainability of World Vision Armenia.

Financial Management, Financial and Operational Audit Compliance

• Ensure strong financial governance, audit compliance, accurate reporting, and sustainable resource mobilization to support organizational goals.

Accountable Stewardship

• Drive efficient use of resources, delivering impactful programs on time, within budget, and in line with organizational standards.

Spiritual Leadership

You will be required to have the following Professional Experience and Skills:

• 10+ years proven Senior Leadership experience with International NGOs in transformational development programming.
• Proven track record of grant acquisition and management
• Knowledge of humanitarian sector and donor community.
• Excellent Armenian and English communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) with ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally as required
• Experience in program assessment, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
• Experience in design and facilitation of training programs.
• You will be based in Yerevan, with regular visits to field, as required.
