Description
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Materials Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials at our Jet Engine Service facility. The Materials Manager will ensure an efficient flow of materials to support production schedules, comply with industry regulations, and maintain cost-effective inventory levels. This role is based onsite in Wilmington, OH.

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and control inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
- Monitor and analyze stock usage patterns to optimize reorder points and quantities and maintain regular cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, or other applicable regulatory requirements in all materials management processes.
- Maintain documentation and traceability for all materials used in MRO operations.
- Supervise and lead the inventory team, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to align material availability with repair schedules.
- Create and maintain material forecasts based on production and market trends.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage material workflows and generate reports.
- Track key performance metrics, such as inventory turns, material availability, and procurement cycle times, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in materials management, preferably within an MRO or aviation environment.
- Proven experience with composite materials preferred.
- Proficiency in Quantum Control and Excel.
- Familiarity with lean principles and inventory management techniques.
- Strong knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and requirements for material traceability.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to inspire and manage teams.
