OPERATIONS MANAGER

ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Operations Manager at Be Aveda Institutes, you play a critical leadership role in ensuring the daily operations of the institute run smoothly while supporting an exceptional educational and guest experience.

This position bridges operational excellence, guest care, and student success. The Operations Manager ensures that systems, scheduling, retail operations, and guest flow are aligned to support the hands-on training students need to develop their technical skills.

Through leadership, coaching, and operational oversight, you help maintain the service standards and educational environment in alignment with Be Aveda Institute standards.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE & “OUR WHY”

• Provide elevated mentoring and leadership to Retail Advisors on exceptional guest service
• Our Why: Retail teams are the first impression for every guest and student entering the building. Maintaining Aveda service standards ensures an elevated and welcoming learning environment.
• Drive community engagement and coordinate in-house events to increase guest count and drive retail walk in sales
• Our Why: Students’ hands-on technical ability and skillset depend on consistently building new guest relationships and service opportunities.
• Manage and optimize Zenoti appointment books
• Our Why: Student hands-on experience is directly tied to maximizing guest appointments and availability.
• Serve as the Guest Care Aveda expert
• Our Why: Promote Aveda product launches and lead education sessions for team members and students to reinforce product knowledge and brand standards.
• Oversee inventory management including weekly and bi-weekly retail and backbar ordering, cycle counts, and inventory adjustments (including student supplies)
• Our Why: Ensuring students always have the necessary supplies aligned with curriculum needs while maintaining responsible inventory management within budget guidelines.
• Provide support as an Admissions tour backup when needed
• Our Why: Being available to guide prospective students through the institute ensures a welcoming and informative experience for individuals considering enrollment.
• Create and manage Retail Advisor schedules
• Our Why: Scheduling must align with business needs to ensure guests receive exceptional service both in person and over the phone while maintaining payroll expectations.
• Lead Retail Advisor interviewing, onboarding, and training
• Our Why: Building a strong and tenured team with outgoing and service-oriented personalities ensures consistent guest experiences and creates opportunities for career growth within retail roles.
• Serve as Manager on Duty and follow all daily operations checklist responsibilities
• Our Why: Consistent operational oversight ensures the institute runs smoothly and maintains Aveda service and education standards.

Dress Code Expectations:

• All black, professional attire that reflects the Aveda brand
• Maintain clean, styled hair, subtle makeup, and professional grooming. Remember – we are in the beauty industry, we must hold ourselves to a high standard that reflects such.
• Nametag must be worn at all times and should remain clean 

Attendance Expectations:

• Arrive on time, ready to contribute to a seamless guest and student experience
• Adhere to scheduled shifts and communicate proactively for any absences – see call out protocol 

TRAINING OVERVIEW & GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

• Initial onboarding will include training modules covering Aveda Guest Service Cycle, product knowledge, booking systems, retail sales techniques, and leadership expectatons
• Ongoing development includes leadership training and retail performance management
• Opportunities to advance include Institute Director, Regional Training roles, Corporate operations roles
