Senior Process Engineer (Molding - IE Department)
Role Purpose:
When new products are introduced or existing products are transferred between manufacturing locations, the Senior Process Engineer will lead the end-to-end industrialization of robust and scalable production processes from concept and feasibility through qualification, pilot build, and production release, so that, new products are launched on time and meet the required quality, cost, and productivity targets.
This role will need drive structured problem solving, continuous improvement, and technology implementation across local, regional, and global projects, strengthening manufacturing capability, improving process stability and efficiency, and enabling sustainable business growth when manufacturing challenges, improvement opportunities, or new technologies arise.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end process industrialization for Product Engineering Process (PEP) and Product Transfer Process (PTP) projects, covering process concept, feasibility study, DFM/DFA, risk assessment, process development, qualification, pilot build, troubleshooting, and final process release;
Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes by defining process parameters, critical process windows, control plans, machine and fixture requirements, work instructions, and maintenance procedures, ensuring processes consistently achieve quality and performance requirements;
Drive continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and eliminate recurring production issues through data-driven analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies;
Provide technical expertise across key manufacturing technologies, particularly injection/over molding, cable harnessing, and related processes, while supporting the implementation of THT, SMT, fluid dispensing, plastic joining, laser, and other advanced manufacturing technologies where required;
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Product/Industrial Engineering, and Technology Development teams on product design, material selection, process qualification, reliability testing, FAT/SAT, machine and fixture release, and manufacturing readiness;
Act as a local Process Engineering and Product counterpart, providing structured technical problem solving and enforcing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles throughout PEP, PTP, CIF, and other product/process development projects;
Contribute to and lead regional SEA and global technology projects, managing project scope, quality, cost, timelines, stakeholders, risks, and deviations while sharing technical knowledge and best practices across locations;
Role Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is an advantage;
Proficient in written and spoken English with strong stakeholder communication skills. German language proficiency is an advantage;
Minimum 7 years of relevant manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on Process Engineering experience in injection molding, preferably in a high-precision manufacturing environment;
Process Engineering Expertise: Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of new product industrialization and product transfer, including APQP, DFSS, PFMEA, process qualification, capability studies, MSA, and other relevant manufacturing methodologies;
Molding & Manufacturing Technology: In-depth knowledge of plastic materials, material flow and selection, part and mold design for manufacturing, mold simulation (e.g., Moldflow), machine and mold setup/qualification, parameter optimization, maintenance, and molding defect analysis/problem solving;
Cable Harnessing Knowledge: Practical knowledge of cable cutting and stripping, crimping equipment and tooling, connector over-molding, and related machine/process setup and verification according to industry standards;
Project Management & Problem Solving: Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and balance quality, cost, timeline, and technical requirements, with strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills;
