A Brief Overview
Responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and property by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Avera locations physical security technology systems. Providing efficient and effective guidance and broad supervision of all staff in the physical security operations center, all while monitoring and assessing the health of the security system which includes surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, and dispatching to events.
What you will do
- Manages daily operations of the Security Operation Center. Ensures timely monitoring, assessment, and response to physical security incidents across all covered locations.
- Manages employee and visitor access control credentials including issuing, revoking, and tracking access levels while assisting with parking administration, access control badging, and enforcement of related policies.
- Oversees that preventative maintenance checks on security technology systems are being completed, with the ability to resolve system malfunctions with basic triage.
- Ensures security system designs meet operational needs and align with Avera standards, while contributing to the development of the organization's physical security guidelines.
- Enhances security system effectiveness by managing vendor quotes and overseeing installation, integration, and maintenance, ensuring scope and execution align with installation standards.
- Provides input for the development of the annual department budget (i.e., capital equipment needs).
- Supports regulatory and legal compliance by collecting evidence and maintaining records for Quality Assurance, Joint Commission, and OSHA, while also maintaining daily security logs to ensure accurate statistical reporting.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Associate's or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Drivers License - Licensing Board Upon Hire
