Responsible for driving disciplined execution of enterprise transformation efforts by leading the Strategy Management Office (SMO), establishing operating cadence, and ensuring cross-functional alignment, visibility, and delivery of measurable financial and operational outcomes. Enables transparency, accountability, and scalable impact through rigorous performance management, strong stakeholder partnership, and clear executive communication.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Owns and drives the weekly SMO governance cadence, ensuring structured preparation, tracking, and follow-through across all forums.
Leads and manages enterprise performance management systems, including Wave, ensuring data integrity, adoption, and transparent reporting across stakeholder groups.
Coordinates cross-functional workstreams, resolves interdependencies, and escalates risks to maintain momentum and support reliable delivery of transformation outcomes.
Develops and delivers executive-ready communications, reporting, and updates that clearly convey progress, risks, and value realization with transparency.
Manages SMO operations, including team performance, prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective execution.
Partners with Finance, IT, HR, and Operations to simplify processes, remove friction, and improve enterprise execution through collaborative teamwork.
Builds capabilities across stakeholder groups to strengthen SMO effectiveness and scale transformation impact across the organization.
Drives alignment with senior leadership on priorities, execution progress, and strategic outcomes to support consistent enterprise direction.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
Problems are complex and may be defined by higher level leadership. Solutions require high strategic level analysis and investigation.
Drives strategy and methodology and serves as the subject-matter expert for policies and practices. Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines.
Manages via multiple layers OR directly supervises a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level. Directs budgetary responsibility at the enterprise level or for two or more businesses across the enterprise.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Brings 10+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, finance, or transformation roles. Demonstrates experience leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives within matrixed environments.
Partners effectively with senior leaders to align on objectives, execution priorities, and performance tracking. Influences enterprise decisions and ways of working while building capabilities across diverse stakeholder groups.
Applies experience in program management, PMO/SMO leadership, or consulting environments to drive results. Delivers measurable business outcomes, including growth, cost savings, or EBITDA improvement.
Posesses industry experience in distribution, supply chain, or industrial environments preferred. Demonstrates strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Applies deep expertise in program management, governance, and operating cadence design. Synthesizes complex information into clear, concise executive communications.
Utilizes strong financial acumen to track value realization and performance outcomes.
Applies advanced stakeholder management and influence skills to drive alignment and execution.
Leverages enterprise systems and reporting tools (e.g., Wave, dashboards) effectively.
