Senior CNC Machinist

What will you be doing?
- The successful candidate is responsible for performing a full range of machining activities, including complex CNC mill and lathe setups, machine operations, and specialty machining processes. They ensure the production of high-quality parts according to specifications, troubleshoot tooling and machining issues, and support manufacturing operations through advanced technical expertise.
- The role also involves training and mentoring machinists through on-the-job training, developing training materials, supporting employee induction, and promoting safe machining practices. The individual participates in continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization projects, and collaborates with engineers by recommending program enhancements and supporting manufacturing efficiency improvements.
- In addition, the candidate performs preventive maintenance on equipment, conducts dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring tools, and supports other production-related activities as required, including packaging, finishing, material deployment, and quality functions. They are expected to uphold all Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), Sustainability, and Energy policies, actively contribute to a safe workplace, prevent environmental impacts, and report HSE incidents and improvement opportunities.
What will you need to be successful?
- The ideal candidate is based in Penang, Malaysia, and possesses a high school education or equivalent, preferably with a vocational certificate in Precision Machining Technology. Candidates must have successfully completed a Machine Operator test and possess at least five years of hands-on machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- The role requires strong technical competencies, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, scales, and indicators, and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of tooling identification. Initial training may involve overseas travel to the USA, Europe, or China for up to two months, after which no regular travel is required.
