Summary of Job Duties:

The Field Education Director works under the supervision and direction of the Director of Social Work and provides leadership, administration, coordination, and oversight for all aspects of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Field Education Program. The Field Education Director is responsible for ensuring that all field education activities are planned, implemented, and evaluated in accordance with the 2022 CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS), university policies, applicable legal requirements, and professional ethical standards.

The Field Education Director is responsible for the overall management and continuous improvement of the field education program, including the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of field education policies, procedures, manuals, learning agreements, evaluation instruments, and other field-related documents. Responsibilities include but are not limited to establishing and maintaining community partnerships; recruiting, approving, and evaluating field placement agencies; coordinating student placements; providing training and consultation to field instructors and task supervisors; monitoring student learning and field performance; collecting, managing, analyzing, and reporting field education assessment data; and preparing all field education documentation required for program assessment, institutional reporting, and CSWE accreditation.

This is a 12-month, non-tenure track administrative faculty appointment reflecting the year-round responsibilities associated with field education administration, community partnership development, student placement, accreditation compliance, and continuous program assessment.

The successful candidate will teach four courses during the academic year, including the Field Practicum I and II and Field Practicum Seminar I and II courses during the fall and spring semesters. Consistent with CSWE expectations recognizing the extensive administrative responsibilities associated with directing field education, supervision of the Field Practicum courses represents a 25% teaching load reduction, resulting in a teaching assignment that is lower than that of traditional full-time faculty.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of post-MSW professional social work practice experience.
• Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) credential, or eligibility for Arkansas social work licensure by the date of appointment.
• Minimum of two (2) year of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, or leadership experience, such as serving as a program coordinator, field coordinator, clinical supervisor, agency administrator, department chair, or comparable leadership role in higher education or a human service organization. Providing BSW and/or MSW Field Supervision within and agency setting will also be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of professional social work practice and the 2022 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).
• Thorough knowledge of professional social work values, ethics, and practice.
• Demonstrated ability to advise, mentor, and supervise students with varied educational, cultural, and professional backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and organizational partners.
• Excellent written, oral, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with university administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
• Demonstrated proficiency with instructional technology and standard office software.
• Ability to travel to field agencies throughout the university's service region.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate of Social Work (BSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of successful college or university teaching experience, with preference given to teaching in accredited social work programs.
• Previous experience serving as a Field Education Director, Field Coordinator, Assistant Field Director, or comparable field education leadership position in a CSWE-accredited social work program.
• Experience as a Field Instructor, Task Supervisor, or Faculty Liaison for BSW and/or MSW field education.
• Experience developing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving a social work field education program.
• Experience establishing and maintaining affiliation agreements and collaborative partnerships with community agencies.
• Experience with CSWE accreditation, reaffirmation, assessment planning, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
• Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting assessment data for accreditation and institutional effectiveness.
• Experience developing field education manuals, policies, learning agreements, student evaluations, and related field education documentation.
• Experience teaching undergraduate social work practice, field, or seminar courses in a variety of formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments as well as development of online course materials using a learning management system (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas).
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching, service, leadership, and scholarship.
