As a Security Officer - Experience Required in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment while responding to security-related concerns with professionalism and integrity. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas; report unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations through established channels.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and emergency services when needed.
• Monitor entrances and exits, verify authorized access as directed, maintain visitor records, and help protect restricted government areas from unauthorized entry.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports, maintain required logs, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A state, county, or city-issued license for security-related work is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
