Description
About the Role
As a Finance Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the finance systems that underpin BOQ Group’s financial operations and reporting. Working closely with stakeholders across Group Finance, Technology, and the broader business, you will provide specialist systems support, investigate and resolve issues, and help ensure finance systems remain reliable, efficient, and aligned to business needs. You will support critical financial processes, including month-end and year-end activities, while maintaining strong controls, system integrity, and a positive user experience.
This role combines technical problem-solving with business analysis, providing the opportunity to identify system improvement opportunities, investigate root causes of issues, and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, data quality, automation, and reporting outcomes. You will contribute to the ongoing evolution of key finance systems, supporting system upgrades, process improvements, and transformation initiatives through activities such as requirements gathering, testing, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and implementation support.
With exposure to a range of finance and business systems including BlackLine, Accurate, SAP/GL, Basware, and ServiceNow, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, technology, and process improvement. You will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact by helping deliver robust, scalable systems that support the organisation’s operational and strategic objectives.
About You
You are a proactive and analytical professional with experience supporting business systems and resolving system, process, or data-related issues. You have a strong understanding of finance processes and controls, including general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting activities, and can confidently investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and identify practical solutions that improve outcomes. With excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail, you enjoy working through complex challenges and finding opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and system performance.
You are an effective communicator who can build strong working relationships across both business and technology teams. Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, you collaborate well with stakeholders, contribute positively to team outcomes, and take ownership of delivering high-quality results. Experience with ServiceNow or other ticket management platforms, system testing, user acceptance testing, and system enhancement activities will be highly regarded, as will exposure to system implementations, automation initiatives, and business change programs.
Ideally, you will hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline. However, we are equally interested in candidates who have developed strong capabilities through hands-on experience in finance systems, business systems support, or systems analysis roles and are passionate about working at the intersection of finance, technology, and continuous improvement.
