We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Associate to join our dynamic legal team in our Mount Kisco, New York and New York City offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and residential real estate transactions, with expertise in New York real estate law and regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development projects.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Associate to join our dynamic legal team in our Mount Kisco, New York and New York City offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and residential real estate transactions, with expertise in New York real estate law and regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, loan documents, and other real estate transaction documents
- Conduct and oversee due diligence reviews, including title examination, survey review, and zoning analysis
- Advise clients on real estate financing transactions, including mortgage loans, mezzanine financing, and construction lending
- Handle closings for acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
- Provide legal counsel on commercial landlord-tenant matters, including lease negotiations, renewals, and disputes
- Advise on land use, zoning, and regulatory compliance matters specific to New York City and State
- Manage relationships with clients, lenders, title companies, and other stakeholders
- Stay current on changes to New York real estate law, regulations, and market trends
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate law, preferably with a law firm or in-house legal department
- Strong knowledge of New York real estate law, including the Real Property Law, Lien Law, and NYC Administrative Code
- Experience with commercial and residential transactions in the New York metropolitan area
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience with co-op and condominium transactions
- Familiarity with 1031 exchanges and tax-deferred transactions
- Experience w/ commercial leases and NNN properties
- Familiarity with estate sales
- Exposure/Interest in Trusts and Estate Law a plus
