Product Owner

The Division 

Volanté is an Enterprise Point-of-Sale company that prides itself on developing leading-edge hospitality technology. What began as a three-person basement project that has developed into an industry-leading POS system with a team of over 100 employees in its Toronto, Ontario-based office. Volanté’s point-of-sales software has evolved based on customer requests and requirements, and has continuously demonstrated its ability to be flexible, scalable, and reliable in diverse environments. We are looking for a motivated QA Engineer who would work closely with the Engineering and Product teams. The Position 

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner who can turn customer needs and business priorities into intuitive, valuable and deliverable product solutions. You will be the key link between customers, stakeholders and the product development team, with accountability for product value, backlog priorities, requirements clarity and a strong user experience. 

This is an ideal role for someone who combines product ownership expertise with practical UI/UX capability. You should be comfortable developing user journeys, workflows, wireframes and prototypes in Figma while working closely with R&D teams from discovery through release. 

The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Partner with R&D and business leadership to define the product vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmap. 

• Identify, prioritize, and validate product opportunities based on customer needs, business objectives, market insights, product usage patterns, and operational challenges. 

• Gather and translate business and customer requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, product specifications, and prioritized backlogs. 

• Use AI to accelerate ideation, design exploration, wireframing, prototyping, and iterative. Translate product stories and requirements into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. 

• Conduct product discovery activities to understand customer pain points, validate requirements, evaluate potential solutions, and identify opportunities for product improvement. 

• Work closely with engineering teams to assess technical feasibility, dependencies, implementation approaches, and delivery timelines. Deliver high-quality design assets and specifications for development handoff. 

• Manage and continuously prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, technical dependencies, and strategic objectives. 

• Facilitate and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, standups, and retrospectives as appropriate. 

• Track product development progress, milestones, sprint outcomes, and key delivery metrics while communicating progress, risks, and priorities to stakeholders. 

• Serve as a key liaison between customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure alignment on product requirements and expected outcomes. 

• Define product success criteria and monitor product performance, customer adoption, usability, and feedback after release. 

• Support release planning and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure product changes are ready for production and effectively communicated to customers and internal stakeholders. 

• Continuously evaluate opportunities to enhance existing products, improve customer experience, streamline workflows, and deliver greater business value. 

Job Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Design or a related discipline. 

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, UI/UX Design or a closely related software-product role. 

• Demonstrated experience owning or managing a product backlog in an Agile software-development environment. 

• Ability to translate customer and business requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and actionable delivery plans. 

• Strong understanding of Scrum or Kanban and modern software-development lifecycle practices. 

• Must have hands-on experience with Figma AI and Claude Design tools, including prompt-driven concept generation, wireframes, interactive prototypes, design-system application, and refinement of AI-generated outputs. 

• Experience collaborating with software developers, QA professionals, and business stakeholders. 

• Practical experience with user journeys, workflows, wireframes and interactive prototypes. 

• Proficiency in Figma, including components, styles, reusable patterns and design systems. 

• Working knowledge of user-centred design, interaction design and usability practices. 

• Strong analytical, prioritisation, facilitation, communication and stakeholder-management skills. 

• Ability to make timely decisions, manage competing priorities and work effectively with globally distributed teams. 

• Ability to interpret product requirements and translate them into effective UI/UX solutions 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

• Self-motivated with the ability to learn new systems, platforms, and technologies related to the position. 

Nice to Have 

• Experience with enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, Point-of-Sale systems, ERP, CRM or cloud-based products. 

• Experience with web and mobile product interfaces, preferably in hospitality, foodservice, retail or payments. 

• Experience conducting user interviews, usability tests or prototype-validation sessions. 

• Experience using product analytics, adoption data and customer feedback to inform priorities. 

• A relevant Product Owner, Scrum, Agile or product-management certification.
